Chief’s dam is Kissy, a very well bred mare with lots of old breeding close up in her pedigree and much to everyone’s delight she was bred to Scamper who also has old names close in his pedigree. This mare is extremely “typey” with a nice stout body and tiny head. Not only is she dark chocolate with a gold mane and tail but that mane and tail are phenomenally lush with her mane falling down both sides of her neck so that she looks like she has a normal mane on both sides! There is so much of it, it can’t all fall to one side. Scamper is the ranch’s Senior Stallion who was undefeated the two times he was shown at halter at the age of 7. He is extremely easy going for a breeding stallion and has been ridden by childen. The foal’s name is Special Chief because his sire is Midnight Special and he was born on Sereno Firechief’s birthday and has the same face markings as his grandsire. He will be sold as a serious stallion prospect.
