Sereno Firechief Reference Stallion
Sequoia Morgan Ranch has been in the business since 1958 and during that time has owned some great horses. Right at the top of that list is Sereno Firechief, sire of Sequoia Midnight Special and double grandsire of Sequoia Red Zinfandel. We are sorry to say that Firechief passed away a few years back, may he always rest in peace.
Sereno Firechief made his debut at the prestigious Medallion Classic and won the Two-Year-Old Pleasure driving class after two weeks of training. He then went on to be third in Open Pleasure Driving in a field of 20 at the huge California State Fair, where he was also 2nd in the two-year-old Stallion Class. He tied for second in two-year-old stallions and two-year-old driving to be the Grand Champion Stallion at the Los Angeles County Fair. Firechief was also third after a competitive workoff in the Junior Driving Class.
The most memorable of his performances was garnering blues in the tough Junior horse and novice classes. Again going against aged horses, he was 2nd in the limit; and to complete his exciting season, Firechief captured the two-year-old Pleasure Driving at the important Copper Star Show.
